Dr. Elizabeth Alonso

Clinical Nutrition

Dr. Elizabeth Alonso is a pediatrician specializing in nutrition and childhood diabetes. A graduate of the University of Buenos Aires, she completed her residency in pediatrics at the Carlos G. Durand General Hospital and her fellowship in nutrition and childhood diabetes at the R. Gutiérrez Children's General Hospital. She also completed her training as a Certified Diabetes Educator with the Argentine Diabetes Society.

She is currently a full member of the Childhood Diabetes Committee of the Argentine Diabetes Society. She also actively participates in scientific publications through the Nutrition Executive Committee of the Argentine Society of Pediatrics and the Obesity Working Group of the Argentine Society of Nutrition.

She works as an adjunct professor (First Assistant) in the Nutrition and Pediatrics departments at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires. She primarily practices as a staff physician in the Nutrition Service and the Transgender Health Service at the CG Durand Hospital. Her current research focuses on the prevention of childhood and adolescent obesity and diabetes.
